Description
This program is designed for anyone who needs a practical orientation on how to conduct a fire watch. This program will be of particular interest to employees and volunteers in community centres, shelters, residential and office buildings, concierge, security, building maintenance, building superintendents and anyone who may be directly or indirectly involved in the fire safety of a building.
Whether you are an employee, volunteer or interested in entering the workforce where fire watch training may be a requirement, this course will provide you with the information you need to safely conduct a Fire Watch, and if placed on your resume could indicate your job readiness giving you additional points towards being hired.
This course is based on the North American standard (Canada/U.S.) for fire classifications and extinguishers and meets the legislatively required General Fire Watch Orientation in most Canadian provinces and territories, and, or required by workers in certain industries. However, it is strongly advised that you check with your local authority prior to enrollment to ensure this is the course you need.
As this course is designed to cover a broad range of material in a short period of time, it is recommended that you take notes.
At the end of this program there will be a test requiring a passing grade of 80%. Upon successfully passing the test, you will be able to immediately print out and save a digital copy of your certificate of completion for Fire Watch. This certificate is your proof of completion and official record of training.

Requirements
There are no prerequisites for this course. The only requirement is a time commitment of approximately 90 minutes to view the course videos, read the course notes and take the exam. This course is designed for anyone with little or no knowledge of the subject and is also suitable for those wishing a refresher course.
How Can I Learn This in 90 Minutes?
We believe everyone should have access to, and be trained in how to work safely. However, many health & safety training programs are more like long drawn out marathons of staying focused, or a commitment of at least a half a day plus commute for many students. While there are some health & safety subjects that definitely need a half day or more to really understand and cover the required material, we have focused on the less complex subjects. We have stripped away the fluff and created direct, and to the point video lessons, with a downloadable course notes guide. By presenting only the facts, straight and simple, we offer you the ability to master this course in 90 minutes. However, you must do your part by viewing all the videos (39 minutes), taking notes (14 minutes), downloading and reading the course notes (22 minutes), and passing the exam (15 minutes) with a score of 80%.
